Cherry blossom season in Japan is a must see for any traveler, and has made it into one of the top travel dreams to contemplate the event of the year anywhere in Japan. In parks, gardens, and several city spots. One of the most popular in Tokyo every year is the Nakameguro illumination event for the cherry blossom season. All along the river, dozens of food stalls and festival atmosphere get the better side of the narrow riverside streets. Taking photos of the yozakura (the words yoru “night” and sakura “cherry trees” combined) is quite a hard task, as hundreds of other visitors are trying to get that photo too. Be patient, and if possible, avoid the weekend.
How to get there
From Hibiya line, or Tokyo-Toyoko Line. Stop at Nakameguro station. During sakura season right out of the station there are several signs to guide you to the river, and police officers guiding the crowd.
